DURATION OF THE COURSE For students who have been educated till class 12 with Science as the Main Subject, the course is completed in 5 and half years.  For the first 16 months, the Bachelor of Science Program concentrates on laying a strong medical foundation and equips students with the necessary basics.  The next 4 years focus on specialized areas in medicine, and towards the end of the program, students will be sent on clinical rotation to different departments to give them first –hand practical experience, under the guidance of experienced doctors. M.D. DEGREE Recognition Public and Private Higher Education Institutes in Philippines are approved by CHED (The Commission on Higher Education of the Philippines).  Prospective students must ensure that the institution they seek admission to, is recognized by CHED.  Further, they must verify that the institution is approved by WHO (World Health Organization).   As on Oct. 2014, there were 37 colleges in Philippines recognized by the World Health Organization.
